Pawfest Introduces First-Ever ‘Dogs in Yellow’ Entrance and Quiet Hour to Support Anxious Dogs

At Pawfest, we believe every dog deserves a fun and comfortable experience, no matter their temperament. That’s why, in an exciting first for dog festivals, we’re proud to introduce the Dogs in Yellow entrance this October. This special feature is designed specifically for anxious dogs and their owners, providing a calm, stress-free entry that ensures all pups feel welcome.

We’ve teamed up with Sarah Jones, founder of My Anxious Dog and proud owner of Bella, a Cocker Spaniel with anxiety, to create this unique entrance for dogs who wear yellow—recognised globally as a signal for dogs that need extra space. This initiative makes Pawfest one of the first dog festivals to prioritise inclusivity for anxious dogs and their owners.

The idea for the Dogs in Yellow entrance was born from conversations Sarah had with pet owners at previous events. Many shared how overwhelming the initial entry process was for their nervous dogs, with the stress affecting their ability to enjoy the day. To address this, we’ll be offering a quieter entry route with a soothing touch: every dog will receive a calming wipe from Pet Remedy, and owners will be provided with a calming spray.

A Quiet Hour for Peaceful Fun

We’re also thrilled to introduce a Quiet Hour from 4-5 PM for Dogs in Yellow. During this time, anxious dogs can explore the festival without the usual crowds, allowing for a more relaxed environment where both dogs and owners can enjoy the try-me activities and browse stalls at their own pace. Quiet Hour tickets are available for just £5.

Sarah, who will also lead our Dogs in Yellow Fun Dog Show category the Yellow Pup Parade at 4:30 PM. The parade is a fun, celebratory way for owners to proudly showcase their dogs in yellow and raise awareness about the importance of giving space to anxious dogs.

Be a Part of Something Special

This initiative is a big step forward in making festivals more inclusive, and we’re incredibly grateful to Sarah and My Anxious Dog for bringing this to life.

We’re also turning our Pawfest logo yellow in support of this initiative, helping to spread awareness and make our event more welcoming for all dogs.

Join us in celebrating this pawsome step toward inclusivity, and make sure to grab your tickets for the Dogs in Yellow Hour & Yellow Pup Parade!
